Search events on Google →As the pescatarian friend would love to see more seafood options (at all KBBQ places) but shrimp was tasty and filling for me. We had just missed the ayce timing and did a la carte which honestly was probably the right move for us (nothing wasted). Service was meh even for DIY; every time we asked for napkins you’d think we were asking for cash…not sure what that’s about. Maybe BYO towel lol. I wouldn’t go out of my way to come here again but I’m also not a meat eater.
Gan Hoo in Flushing delivers consistently delicious food, with bold flavors and generous portions that make every meal satisfying. The dishes taste fresh and well-prepared, and you can tell the kitchen really knows what it’s doing. Whether you’re ordering classic favorites or trying something new, the quality is always impressive. The one area where the experience falls short is the service. It’s efficient, but very impersonal — more transactional than welcoming. You get your food quickly and everything runs smoothly, but there’s little warmth or engagement from the staff, which takes away from the overall dining experience. That said, the food alone makes it worth visiting. If you’re looking for great Chinese cuisine and don’t mind the lack of personal touch, Gan Hoo remains a reliable and tasty choice.
