Incredible place! Walking in, you see the white table cloths and it previews the great, but not ostentatious, service. They seated our group of eight in a little alcove private dining room. I had the pipian mole rib which was so tender and flavorful. They let me substitute asparagus for the mixed vegetables and I added a side of street corn (elote), which were both delicious as well. I have attached pictures of both platings. Someone else got the salad with shrimp and the shrimp were huge and well grilled. Another got theirs with salmon which was a generous portion. There was a marguerita pizza in the menu, but when one in our group wanted it as a calzone, they happily obliged. The wedge salad was presented beautifully. As though there wasn’t enough food, they had nice crusty bread. And their ice tea was well brewed (good flavor, not too thick or thin). Reflects their attention to detail. We all agreed we would definitely dine here again!

We had a really enjoyable meal here. I went with the half rack of baby backs, mixed vegetables and elite corn. My wife ordered the avocado chicken with rice and vegetables. Both dishes were well prepared and seasoned perfectly. You could tell the kitchen knows what they are doing. Our waiter was friendly, knowledgeable and gave helpful recommendations. We finished with an almond taco for dessert and it did not disappoint. The restaurant itself was clean and had a nice atmosphere. Definitely worth a visit.

Our first time eating at the Republic of the Rio Grande restaurant on my birthday. What an amazing experience. I had the avocado salmon and my husband had the 12 oz ribeye. Both were excellent. Our waiter, Hector, was wonderful. He made me one of the best old fashions I have ever had! Dessert was an on the house almond taco filled with vanilla mousse that I had read about and it did not disappoint. Our first time there but definitely not our last!
