This is my second time here, first with a girlfriend who loved the salad & I devoured the steamed clams. This time with the boyfriend for a light snack & wasn’t disappointed. We sat the outside bar area with a view of the lake due too was a bit too noisy to chat over the live music playing. Which had moved this time to a different location on the outside patio. Our bartender Sam/Sandy was delightful & attentive. There was a good size crowd & a lot going on with a large group dining inside & this arriving . We enjoyed the fried cauliflower which was done perfectly (not soggy inside & very fresh) but we both thought the portion was a bit small with four large florets and the rest were tiny ones.. the wings were perfectly cooked & tender. Just wish the wings had more Asian teriyaki sauce on them instead of just drizzled lightly over them. Hence the four stars . We did request more sauce but never received it by the time we left. We even had fireworks (as the fireworks were cancelled from the previous evening ) & we’re super! We had great seats for viewing them.
We had lunch at this restaurant today with our family. When we arrived, the hostess told us we would have to wait 25 minutes, took down our phone number, and we specifically asked if it would be possible to sit outside. She confirmed that it was. We waited outside enjoying the beautiful view of the mountains and the lake. After the wait, we received a text message saying our table was ready. When we entered the restaurant, however, they seated us in a dark and unpleasant area right next to the staircase, where many people were constantly passing by. We asked to be moved to another table, but the hostess said it was not possible—even though earlier she had confirmed that it would be. Then the manager came, but he was very rude and unhelpful. He simply said it was not possible, even though there were many empty tables available. His attitude toward customers was very unprofessional. We were traveling from Quebec to Philadelphia, tired and very hungry, so we accepted the table. We ordered kids’ meals for the children, but the food was very poor quality—the kids didn’t eat at all, and the money was wasted. I ordered a steak, my wife ordered salmon, and my mother ordered barbecue beef. The steak was completely tasteless, with no seasoning at all. I asked for mashed potatoes, but they brought something else. For me, the steak was a 0/10. The salmon was okay, but the menu said it came with vegetables, while they only served broccoli. They should have written “broccoli” instead of “vegetables.” The barbecue beef was nothing like real barbecue—it was one of the worst versions I’ve ever tried. The only positive thing I can say is that the view outside was beautiful. Unfortunately, the service, food quality, and overall experience were very disappointing.
The Lighthouse Grill has an amazing view — truly one of the best spots on Lake George. The staff are super nice and welcoming, which really adds to the experience. The menu, however, is quite limited, and the food wasn’t particularly impressive. The burger is probably the safest choice. Overall, it’s a great place to relax with a drink and take in the scenery, even if the food isn’t the highlight.
Lovely view overlooking Lake George. Welcoming staff, great service & cocktails. My husband liked the chicken sandwich with hot sauce. The calamari was good, but the Crab & Lobster roll with truffle oil fries was exceptional!
I visited this restaurant based on good reviews and its location by Lake George, but overall, it was a disappointing experience. The view was beautiful, but the food and service didn’t live up to the hype. We were seated at an outdoor table, but noticed more scenic tables available on the deck in the sun. When we asked to move, the staff said we couldn’t because of the waitresses’ rotation schedule. It felt like an odd reason and gave the impression that customer preference wasn’t a priority. Food-wise, the timing was off—our appetizers (clam chowder and ahi tuna) came out at the same time as our main dishes. The clam chowder, while simple in presentation, was actually good. The ahi tuna and the mains were just okay. My chicken was a bit dry, nothing memorable. I’d rate the experience a 6/10, and honestly give the restaurant a 3 overall due to how underwhelming it felt. The staff seemed to be doing their best, but the kitchen execution and coordination were clearly lacking. If you’re looking for exceptional service or food, I’d recommend skipping this place. Great lake view—but that’s about it.
