The filet was good last time, but the sirloin was barely edible, no flavor, it looked good, but tasted like dry cardboard and cooked medium rare. The shrimp was grilled, it was OK. I would not order this again. Brussel sprouts were good and the salad was fresh. Bread was ok. The service was good, but I had to wait for my water to be refilled by the manager. The two seater booth is so close your feet are on top of the other person's feet across from you. It's a very cozy and comfortable restaurant.
I hadn’t been by here in quite some time, but we decided to come tonight since it was my birthday. I had the steak salad and I was most of the way through it and wondering why it wasn’t as good as I remembered it when I realized they didn’t put the blue cheese on it like it’s supposed to be made with (and the menu says it’s made with). The steak was done properly, though, medium rare, like I ordered it. My wife ordered the steak and sweet potato fries. She liked the steak, but the sweet potato fries were pretty soggy so we didn’t care for those too much. Thankfully, the carrot cake was as awesome as I remember it being. After we got our food, the waiter never came back by until we were finished, so I didn’t get a chance to talk to him about the salad until I was already done with it. I’ll give it four stars, but it was really more like 3.5. I doubt I’ll be back anytime soon. There’s too many places to eat where the food comes out really well and/or it comes out like it’s supposed to be made. Update: Clearly Saltgrass doesn’t actually read the review before sending the form letter response. Somehow they thought they met expectations. Guess I should lower the rating to a 3 where the experience actually was. I’ll do that now…
